‘Weird Name’: Ryan Reynolds Officially Reveals Name of His & Blake Lively’s 4th Child, Sparking More Questions
The secret is at last revealed! Fans are in a frenzy as Ryan Reynolds formally disclosed the name of his fourth child. The newest Reynolds-Lively addition’s name is now public knowledge, but one vexing question still stands: boy or girl?
The youngest child of Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively has been named, and the couple has once again won over fans with their revelation. On July 22, at the eagerly awaited “Deadpool & Wolverine” premiere in New York, the major surprise took place.
Ryan took a time to deeply thank his wife Blake for her support before heading onto the stage with his co-stars. Ryan started, “I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here,” and the audience responded warmly.
“I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, and Olin, who are here: I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing—that is, the contents of this movie—that happens in your wondrous life,” he laughed and continued, “I love that my entire family is here.”
Some even thought the name choice was funny; one person made the joke, “Ha ha.. weird name.” All that comes to mind is the years my mother spent working for Olin Winchester.” One person even made the jest, “Loving the hillbilly names.”
With harshness, one critic said, “I apologize. The names of all their kids are awful.” Someone else inquired, “Is it me, or do they have the most random and worst names for their kids?”
Not every response, though, was negative. A few fans loved the name’s originality. One fan commented, “Olin is such a weird but cute name.” Someone another said, “Olin is a nice name.” The comments were also rife with inquiries regarding the baby’s gender, with many admirers excitedly asking, “Is it a boy or a girl?”
Although Ryan and Blake have disclosed the name of their fourth kid, it is still unknown what gender the child is. When Olin was born in February 2023, Ryan appeared on “POWER LUNCH.”
Upon being asked by one of the hosts what gender the baby was, Ryan chuckled and joked, “I ain’t telling.” This is not a declaration of birth.” He went on to explain their strategy, saying, “We didn’t publicize the birth. We simply shared a picture, and the media sort of did its thing.”
We’ve been waiting impatiently for Ryan to reveal the name of their fourth kid. He hinted to the toddler’s name in May during an interview on the “TODAY” show.
As she had done with the names of Ryan and Blake’s older children on one of her albums, co-host Savannah Guthrie questioned if he could reveal the name or if they should wait for Taylor Swift to do so in one of her songs.
Ryan joked, “We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child’s name is, and I’ll say this: We’re still waiting,” in response to the question of whether Taylor had alluded to the baby’s name on her most recent album.
Despite living in the spotlight, Ryan and Blake have managed to keep their kids out of the spotlight. However, the couple’s kids made a rare public appearance at a concert in May, grabbing attention right once due to how much they resembled their mother.
On Wednesday, May 29, the “Age of Adaline” actress was photographed going to Taylor’s Eras Tour event in Madrid along with her three oldest children. Social media users shared videos of the family having a great time during the event from the VIP area below.
As they chatted and traded bracelets, the mother and daughters appeared to be enjoying the performance. For the occasion, Blake wore jeans shorts, a crisp white button-up shirt, and gold hoops earrings for a casual yet fashionable approach.
Her blond hair was parted on the side and worn in a lovely downdo in certain video. The laid-back yet stylish group was the ideal fit for the energetic musical atmosphere.
The striking similarity between Blake and her daughters was immediately noticed by fans, who flooded social media with comments. Proud admirers exclaimed, “They have their momma’s face,” and other such sentiments toward the girls. “I love it, the girls are so adorable,” “Blake [with] her minis,” “They’re so grown up,” and “So cute.”
The enthusiasm of the event was increased when Taylor performed and specifically acknowledged the Reynolds-Lively kids. Taylor brought up the song “Betty” from the album “Folklore,” which has the names James, Inez, and Betty, the couple’s three elder children, in reference.
As Taylor said, “I have to say that some of my favorite characters on Folklore are named James, Inez, and Betty,” the audience cheered.
Ryan, meanwhile, has been open about his experiences being a father. The “Deadpool” actor told amusing tales in an interview about raising the kids alone himself while Blake enjoyed a well-earned vacation.
He made light of the situation, calling himself a “single dad” and drawing a comparison to a Reba McEntire song. The interviewers laughed out loud as Ryan recalled taking the kids to the park and joked that their mother had abandoned them when they were little.
Ryan said he really enjoyed spending time with his kids, even with the jokes. It was wonderful that no one died, he remarked, adding, “And it’s just a zoo! You simply give up all the time.”
He also made a lighthearted remark on the almost constant state of illness that tends to come with having several little children, stating, “I was thrilled to have our fourth child because I always wanted to make sure we had someone available to give me strep throat. And we’ve since healed.”
When Blake and Taylor went to the Super Bowl in February to witness her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, Ryan once more assumed sole parenting responsibilities. Blake posted a hilarious Instagram journal of her trip. She told humorous anecdotes about her adventures and mentioned that it was her first time traveling without her kids.
Fans continue to find Blake, Ryan, and Taylor endearing because of their close-knit friendship and lighthearted parenting style. A glimpse of their loving, funny, and glamorous family life may be seen in their public appearances and interactions.
